I am a professional Horticulturist (3 degrees in Hort). I posted your comment so that others can see it and consider your comment. I know about invasive species and what is invasive in one area isn't in another. I used to work for a major nursery where we produced millions of 1 gallon size and up Japanese Barberry and shipped them all over the US. We also shipped Nandina, ornamental grasses, honeysuckle,bittersweet,and other plants that are invasive in some areas, but not others.
Where I live, it is hard to keep Japanese Barberry alive, let alone worry about it becoming a problem. I will leave the non-natives, but be happy to add something to list the ones that may be invasive in some areas. If you want to send me a list of invasives in your area, I add the information. I have lots of additional pages of plants to recommend and will keep your comment in mind if I know that something could be a problem.
