After my original rant and plans to defeat the giant rodents I did indeed add two more sprinklers - two of them were Have-a-Hart which work just like the Scarecrow Sprinklers but were a little less expensive. Let me tell you, I had the most beautiful garden! One night I turned the sprinklers on (I turn them off every morning so I don't get squirted and also save on batteries) but forgot to turn the water on and there was some nibbling on the hollyhocks. However, since the sprinklers click before they squirt, I think the deer were alerted and frightened away anyway. I didn't forget to turn the water on again, though.

My garden inspired beautiful photos all summer long and I've created some gorgeous PowerPoints with them also. Maybe I'll share those at a later date.

Even better, try the new Guardener advertised on this site. It you use the 10% off coupon on some of the pages, it would be $130. It will shoot the water like the scarecrow, but also have a loud noise to go with it. It holds water so it doesn't have to be hooked to the hose, so you can move it around. It is solar, so it doesn't need electricity.
