White-tail Deer Density Map By The Quality Deer Management Association

The Whitetail deer density map is an interactive map utility that features white-tailed deer populations by county throughout the United States. This map is a great reference tool for deer managers, gardeners dealing with deer, or anyone with an interest in white-tailed deer. The map also features a 3D topographic background and contains a database with the names and locations of thousands of topographic and manmade features.

The whitetail density map is provided by The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). The QDMA is a non-profit wildlife conservation organization dedicated to ensuring a high-quality and sustainable future for white-tailed deer and ethical hunting experiences through education, research, and management in partnership with hunters, landowners, natural resource professionals, and the public. Quality Deer Management (QDM) is a management philosophy/practice that unites landowners, hunters, and managers in a common goal of producing biologically and socially balanced deer herds within existing environmental, social, and legal constraints.

The watersheds are based on the US Geological Survey's Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) cataloging units. The topographic names are derived from the US Geological Survey's Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). Users may simply point and click their way to features by selecting them from the map, or, by making selections from the sidebar lists of states, watersheds, and features. Users may zoom in on an area of the map to shorten the list and to display more detail.

This utility operates best at screen resolutions of 1024x768 and higher. These higher resolutions will yield a larger map and more information links than the 800x600 version.

Start Options for the QDMA Whitetail Map Guide: The following links allow you to start the map utility with various default layers already enabled. Map layers may be toggled on and off as needed by clicking on the "themes" button on the map control panel.
